Saturday - the tournament

The tournament's results

Unlike the tradition when two or three teams fly over the round-robin tournament leaving fractions of points to the other teams, this year's tournament featured few wipe-outs. The tournament was rather short with only seven teams (one of them three-headed because of the odd number of participants), but most 4-games matches were rather contested.

With such a small number of teams it made sense that there would be only a final between the two best-placed teams, and in fact two teams finished ahead of the pack with a 4-point margin : Jochem Snuverink and Martin Werner (Ishamael-ludeo), the logical favourites, and the trio of José Rincon, Rodolphe Francey and me (?-Tjeulesbetes-nabla), taking turns with the three possible player configurations. Quentin Bogousslavsky and Laurent Vilaseca took a nice third place.

For the final, played until 4.5 points, we decided that José would play all the games. Except for two games that we managed to steal thanks to blunders, that match was a cruise for Ishamael and ludeo, who in a typical game were soon ahead both in position and time. 5-2 was a result which didn't suffer any discussion.

Following : Sunday and Monday at the Parc des Bastions
